NEW PENALTIES FOR FAILURE TO REGISTER WITH A.I.R.E.

Registration with A.I.R.E. is a citizen’s right-duty (Law No. 470/1988, Art. 6) and is a prerequisite for taking advantage of consular services provided by the Representations abroad, as well as for exercising important rights. It should be noted that Law No. 213, Art.1, Paragraph 242 of Dec. 30, 2023 introduced a penalty of a maximum of 1,000.00 euros for each year of non-registration in A.I.R.E., for a maximum of 5 years, for all Italian citizens residing abroad.
