The Consulate General of Italy in Miami is proud to announce the launch of an innovative educational project that, throughout February, will connect Florida schools with Italy’s leading museums dedicated to the history of migration.
The initiative, designed for students from age 7 to university level, aims to promote the Italian language and culture through the use of digital technology. Thanks to the collaboration with the MEI (National Museum of Italian Emigration) in Genoa and the Basilicata MEI Museum, hundreds of students will explore Italy’s historical and artistic heritage via live streaming, guided by historians and museum experts.
“We want to offer students an experience that goes beyond textbooks,” explains Head of the School Office of the Consulate. “By focusing on the theme of migration, we aim to strengthen the identity of the younger generations and demonstrate how our language serves as a living bridge between the past and the future.”
The project will feature interactive sessions held both in classrooms across Florida and at the Italian Cultural Institute in Miami. The program will focus on Italian roots and the significant contribution millions of migrants have made to global history.
