***Notice***
We are aware that, due to strong demand, the monthly appointments available on the Prenot@mi portal for passport renewal fill up very quickly. We would like to inform you that we are making every possible effort to strengthen this important service and reduce waiting times for appointments.
New passport appointments are made available every day at midnight Italian time (6:00 p.m. Miami time). In addition, on Thursday mornings (around 10:00 a.m. Miami time) we release at least 80 new slots for the following week, bringing the total number of passport slots available each week to between 150 and 170.
We therefore thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
We strongly recommend that you do not trust brokerage firms, agencies, or individuals who claim they can procure appointments for a fee. Appointments can only be reserved through the Prenot@mi application and are absolutely free of charge. Any appointments made through such parties—and thus the result of an illicit “resale” of free consular services—will be canceled. Likewise, appointments booked by means of bots or malicious software will be eliminated. Such practices will be reported to the appropriate authorities (and may constitute violations of Florida’s cybercrime regulations).
***Aviso***

In case of a proven and urgent emergency (health reasons, work, theft or loss of the only travel document, etc.), send an email to passaporti.miami@esteri.it attaching any document useful for determining and proving such emergency.
Emergencies include:
- unpostponable work requirements, proven by a reasoned request from the employer, written on letterhead. The letter must be signed by someone in a managerial position (company owner, executive, personnel manager) and must include the name of the person concerned, their role in the company, the period and destination of the trip; the benefits of the emergency procedure for work reasons cannot be extended to the owner’s family members.
- study/training needs duly documented by the institution/university involved;
- serious family or personal health reasons, certified by the attending physician or healthcare facility.
Any reasons not included in the list above cannot be considered urgent. For example, vacation or tourist travel does not constitute an “emergency” (in this regard, users are advised to carefully check the expiration date of their travel document before making any airline or hotel reservations, etc.).
