Essential Requirements
Before requesting any registration, ensure that your own birth certificate has been registered with your Comune, as this serves as proof of your Italian citizenship.
Vital Statistics Registration for Italian Citizens Abroad
Italian citizens residing abroad must report all vital events (such as births, marriages, divorces, or deaths) to their local Italian Consulate for proper registration in Italy.
Temporary Residents & AIRE Registration
- If you are a temporary resident and not registered with AIRE, this Consulate can only forward certificates issued within this consular jurisdiction to Italy.
- If you are registered with AIRE at this Consulate, you may request the registration of records issued in another jurisdiction. In this case, please check the website of the Italian Consulate responsible for the area where the event occurred.
GENERAL INFORMATION COMMON TO ALL REQUESTS:
CERTIFICATES ISSUED IN COUNTRIES/STATES NOT UNDER JURISDICTION
These documents can be submitted here for registration in Italy only if you are registered with AIRE at this Consulate and only if the original Consulate has certified the translation by affixing an official stamp at the end of the translation.

Below, you will find the addresses of the authorities responsible for issuing the Apostille.
DOCUMENTS FORMAT
If the certificate is not in A4 format, is printed on both sides, or contains glued attachments, please provide a separate copy of each side on a single-sided sheet.
