Notary Services

The Notary Office assists Italian citizens abroad (either registered with A.I.R.E. or temporarily residing within the consular jurisdiction) in the execution and authentication of documents intended to produce legal effects in Italy.

Notarial acts drafted at this Consulate General are valid exclusively within the territory of the Italian Republic and at Italian diplomatic or consular representations.

The Notary Office cannot provide any legal advice or direct legal assistance.

NOTARY SERVICES

The Notary Office receives by appointment only, to be booked through the Prenot@Mi portal by selecting the requested service among General or Special Powers of Attorney, Administrative/Notary Signature Authentication, or Affidavit for Marriage.

For all other services (acts relating to wills or estates, or changes to the matrimonial property regime), and only for those services, please contact the Notarial Office by email at: notarile.miami@esteri.it

Please consult the menu on the right for the full list of notary services offered by this Consulate, so that you may carefully review the required documentation.

Please note:
At the time of the appointment, applicants must appear in person at the Office and present valid identification documents (passport or Italian ID card).

Married women whose documents show only their husband’s surname must provide proof of their maiden name (e.g., by presenting a birth and marriage certificate).

Each notary act is subject to the payment of consular fees. The applicable fees for the notary services offered by this Office can be found at the following link: Consular Fees .

Only money orders (NO Bank of America) or cash are accepted. Credit or debit cards are not accepted.

For citizens of other nationalities or those not registered with A.I.R.E., only certain specific services may be provided. Such services are discretionary and, in any case, require residence within the consular jurisdiction.
