The Mille Miglia Florida Experience concluded with great success, organized under the patronage of the Consulate General of Italy in Miami, the Automobile Club of Italy, ACI Storico, and the NIAF (National Italian American Foundation). The glamour, beauty, passion for automotive engineering, and the exhilarating speed of over seventy historic cars and unique supercars raced through the streets of South Florida, starting from the Consulate (Coral Gables) and making stops in Naples, Tampa, Cape Canaveral, West Palm Beach, before returning to Miami.
A breathtaking route allowed the American public to relive the timeless charm of the iconic Italian car race, adapted to the magnificent landscape of Florida. The event successfully celebrated the spirit and tradition of the Mille Miglia, often referred to as “the most beautiful race in the world,” reaffirming itself as a symbol of Italian excellence, where innovation and tradition meet.
Since its inception in 1927, the Mille Miglia has captivated car enthusiasts worldwide, showcasing the mastery of Italian automotive design and the historical and artistic richness of the locations it passes through. Even in its Florida edition, participants experienced an exciting journey through iconic landscapes, from the serene beauty of the Everglades to the vibrant energy of Miami, offering an experience that evoked the spirit of the original race.
The event concluded with great enthusiasm, strengthening the bond between Italian automotive excellence and the American public, united by a shared passion for beauty, speed, and tradition.
We remind enthusiasts that, until April 10, they can visit the 1000 Miglia: Through Landscapes and Historic Towns of Italy exhibition at the Italian Cultural Institute of Miami, located at 209 Altara Avenue, Coral Gables. The exhibition, created in collaboration with 1000 Miglia and its photographic archive, offers a chance to celebrate the history of the legendary car race, providing a glimpse into the charming and picturesque Italian locations it passes through.
The twenty-six images that make up the exhibition capture the elegance of vintage cars and present a fascinating alternation of historic villages and stunning landscapes, vividly conveying the timeless beauty of Italy. A short black-and-white section recreates the atmosphere and sensations of the classic editions of the race, with some photographs transporting viewers back nearly a hundred years.
