Prenot@mi

***Notice***We are aware that, due to high demand, passport renewal appointments are selling out quickly each month. We would like to inform you that we are making every effort to improve this important part of our service and reduce waiting times. In recent months, we have greatly increased the supply of appointments and subsequent passport issuance to about two hundred per week.

We would like to remind you once again that the ONLY system for booking passport renewal appointments is the ministerial portal Prenot@mi (https://prenotami.esteri.it), which guarantees equal, impartial, and fair treatment of all users.

New appointments are made available daily at midnight Italian time (6 p.m. Miami time). Additional passport slots are also made available on Thursday mornings, in varying numbers depending on waivers, cancellations, etc.

As explained on our passports web page, you can apply for a passport through an emergency procedure in cases of proven, documented, and unavoidable necessity (e.g., serious health issues, work obligations, theft, or loss of the only travel document in your possession).

We strongly recommend that you do not trust brokerage firms, agencies, or individuals who claim they can procure appointments for a fee. Appointments can only be reserved through the Prenot@mi application and are absolutely free of charge. Any appointments made through such parties—and thus the result of an illicit “resale” of free consular services—will be canceled. Likewise, appointments booked by means of bots or malicious software will be eliminated. Such practices will be reported to the appropriate authorities (and may constitute violations of Florida’s cybercrime regulations).

***AVISO***

Please consider the following instructions carefully:

  • Appointment booking is free of charge;
  • Bookings for the Passport Service are open for 90 days from the date of accessing the portal. If the booking system does not show availability, please try again;
  • New passport appointments are made available on a daily basis at midnight Italian time (6 p.m. Miami time). New passport slots are also made available on a weekly basis on Thursday mornings;
  • Appointment booking is individual: the name on the Prenot@mi account used to make the booking must match the name of the passport applicant (except in the case of minors, where the booking will be made from one of the parents’ accounts). It is not possible to make reservations on behalf of third parties from your personal account;
  • Appointments for minors can be booked using a parent’s account by entering the minor’s name in the notes field (specify first name, last name, place, and date of birth). Please note that this method reserves a slot for only one person (the minor);
  • Households with more than one person must book “multiple” appointments. Alternatively, individual appointments can be made using each family member’s individual account.
  • The Prenot@Mi portal uses an authentication system that requires confirmation of each action via an OTP code sent automatically to the user’s email address. Please check all your mailboxes (including spam) for this message and repeat the operation if necessary to obtain the code. The Passport Office cannot generate this code for you or confirm your booking.

Waiting list: in case there are no available dates, it is possible to opt for inclusion in the waiting list. The system automatically searches for the first vacancy and notifies you directly with an email as soon as it becomes available.

PLEASE NOTE: Italian nationals who will not be able to attend the appointment are kindly asked to always cancel the appointments.
