Dear fellow Italians,
We are aware that the steadily increasing number of Italian citizens requesting passport renewals may make it difficult at times to secure an appointment.
As a reminder, new passport appointments are released every day at midnight Italian time (6:00 PM in Miami), as well as on Thursday mornings, when at least 80 new slots for the following week are made available. In total, between 150 and 170 passport appointments are offered each week.
To further expand consular services for our large community in the southeastern United States, we are pleased to announce an additional enhancement to this essential area. On an experimental basis—and in order to assist those who may need to travel soon—we are introducing special afternoon openings of the Passport Office starting this March. These openings are primarily intended for Italian citizens already registered with AIRE whose passports will expire within 60 days from the publication of these notices.
The first special opening is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
Access to the Consulate will be by appointment only, to be arranged in advance by following the instructions below.
How to Request an Appointment
To express your interest and request an appointment during the special afternoon opening on March 25, 2026, please write as soon as possible to the Passport Office at:

Please Note

- Passports will be mailed to the applicant’s home address.
- This special service will be offered until all available slots have been filled.
- Requests will be processed in the order in which they are received, and no waiting list will be created.
