With the conclusion of October—a month dedicated to celebrating the valuable contribution of the Italian-American community in the United States—the Consulate General of Italy in Miami would like to thank the Florida institutions that have honored us with their heartfelt support:
Miami-Dade County — Mayor Daniella Levine Cava paid tribute to the Italian-American community with an official Proclamation, delivered to the Consulate by Maria Dreyfuss, Deputy Director for Economic Development for Miami-Dade County.
Broward County – Fort Lauderdale – On Columbus Day, the Consulate participated in the rededication ceremony of the statue of Christopher Columbus at the entrance to Port Everglades, honoring the legacy of the great Italian explorer.
City of Coral Gables – Mayor Vince Lago welcomed representatives of the Consulate to City Hall during a public session, delivering a Proclamation that we will cherish with great pride.
City of Tampa – Mayor Jane Castor officially proclaimed October as Italian American Heritage Month in Tampa — an important recognition for the vibrant local Italian community, to whom we extend our sincere gratitude.
A heartfelt thank you for confirming your feelings of deep friendship and kinship. Long live Italy and long live the United States.
