JAMAICA – Weather alert for tropical depression “number 18”

The tropical depression “number 18” that is affecting the Caribbean Sea north of Panama these days is expected to evolve to the level of Tropical Storm. It is expected to arrive over Jamaica on the evening of Monday, Nov. 4, and move northward on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Severe thunderstorms with significant sudden wind gusts are likely.

Nationals are advised to strictly follow the instructions provided by local authorities, as well as to want to closely monitor the Jamaica Meteorological Center website (https://metservice.gov.jm) for an up-to-date picture of weather conditions and environmental hazards. In addition, it should be noted that the Consulate General in Miami’s social channels are reposting Safety Alerts from the relevant Authorities.
