Italian American Heritage Month City of Coral Gables Proclamation

Miami, October 14, 2025 – The Consul General of Italy in Miami, Michele Mistò, had the honor of receiving the official Proclamation presented by Mayor Vince Lago on behalf of the City of Coral Gables, designating the month of October as Italian American Heritage Month in Coral Gables.

The proclamation recognizes the invaluable contributions that the Italian and Italian American community continue to make to the cultural, social, and economic life of South Florida. Over the decades, Italians and Italian Americans have played a vital role in shaping the region’s identity, strengthening its cultural fabric, and fostering ties of friendship and cooperation between Italy and the United States.

Consul General Mistò expressed his deep appreciation to Mayor Vince Lago, Vice Mayor Rhonda Anderson, and the City of Coral Gables for this important recognition and for their continued support of the Italian community.
