{"id":8284,"date":"2026-03-25T10:15:46","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T14:15:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consmiami.esteri.it\/?p=8284"},"modified":"2026-03-25T10:18:26","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T14:18:26","slug":"proof-of-life-for-pensioners-residing-abroad-first-phase-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consmiami.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dal_consolato\/2026\/03\/proof-of-life-for-pensioners-residing-abroad-first-phase-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Proof of Life for Pensioners Residing Abroad \u2013 First Phase 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"196\" data-end=\"508\">Italian pensioners residing in <strong data-start=\"227\" data-end=\"346\">the U.S <\/strong>are hereby informed that INPS has launched the <strong data-start=\"394\" data-end=\"451\">first phase of the 2026 verification of life campaign<\/strong>, which will take place <strong data-start=\"475\" data-end=\"507\">from March through July 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"510\" data-end=\"716\">Starting on <strong data-start=\"522\" data-end=\"540\">March 20, 2026<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"542\" data-end=\"559\">Citibank N.A.<\/strong> will send requests for proof of life to the pension beneficiaries concerned. The completed certifications must be returned to Citibank <strong data-start=\"695\" data-end=\"715\">by July 18, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"718\" data-end=\"1108\">Should the certification not be submitted, payment of the <strong data-start=\"776\" data-end=\"791\">August 2026<\/strong> pension installment, where possible, will be made <strong data-start=\"842\" data-end=\"884\">in cash through Western Union agencies<\/strong> in the country of residence. If the pensioner neither collects the payment in person nor submits the certification by <strong data-start=\"1003\" data-end=\"1022\">August 19, 2026<\/strong>, pension payments will be <strong data-start=\"1049\" data-end=\"1107\">suspended starting with the September 2026 installment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1110\" data-end=\"1283\">Please also note that, as part of the services made available by <strong data-start=\"1175\" data-end=\"1192\">Citibank N.A.<\/strong>, proof of life may also be completed electronically through the Bank\u2019s dedicated channels.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1285\" data-end=\"1684\">It is further recalled that <strong data-start=\"1313\" data-end=\"1403\">INPS and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI)<\/strong> have developed a project allowing pensioners to interact with diplomatic and consular offices also through a <strong data-start=\"1513\" data-end=\"1535\">video call service<\/strong>, which is an <strong data-start=\"1549\" data-end=\"1586\">additional, non-substitute option<\/strong> alongside the ordinary procedures requiring physical presence before an <strong data-start=\"1659\" data-end=\"1684\">\u201cacceptable witness.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1686\" data-end=\"1919\">Pensioners concerned are therefore encouraged to carefully review the communication received from <strong data-start=\"1784\" data-end=\"1801\">Citibank N.A.<\/strong>, comply with the indicated deadlines, and contact their competent Consular Office for further information, if needed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1686\" data-end=\"1919\">\n<p data-start=\"1686\" data-end=\"1919\">For further information, please contact this Consulate General and visit the relevant sections of the official website of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.inps.it\/it\/it\/inps-comunica\/notizie\/dettaglio-news-page.news.2026.03.accertamento-esistenza-in-vita-pensionati-all-estero-avvio-prima-fase.html\">INPS<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Italian pensioners residing in the U.S are hereby informed that INPS has launched the first phase of the 2026 verification of life campaign, which will take place from March through July 2026.
