{"id":6205,"date":"2025-10-31T16:25:55","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T20:25:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consmiami.esteri.it\/?p=6205"},"modified":"2025-10-31T16:31:57","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T20:31:57","slug":"italian-american-heritage-month-shared-values-and-history-of-italy-and-the-united-states-in-the-spotlight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consmiami.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dal_consolato\/2025\/10\/italian-american-heritage-month-shared-values-and-history-of-italy-and-the-united-states-in-the-spotlight\/","title":{"rendered":"Italian American Heritage Month: Shared Values and History of Italy and the United States in the Spotlight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the conclusion of October\u2014a month dedicated to celebrating the valuable contribution of the Italian-American community in the United States\u2014the Consulate General of Italy in Miami would like to thank the Florida institutions that have honored us with their heartfelt support:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Miami-Dade County \u2014 Mayor Daniella Levine Cava<\/strong> paid tribute to the Italian-American community with an official Proclamation, delivered to the Consulate by Maria Dreyfuss, Deputy Director for Economic Development for Miami-Dade County.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Broward County \u2013 Fort Lauderdale<\/strong> \u2013 On Columbus Day, the Consulate participated in the rededication ceremony of the statue of Christopher Columbus at the entrance to Port Everglades, honoring the legacy of the great Italian explorer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>City of Coral Gables \u2013 Mayor Vince Lago<\/strong> welcomed representatives of the Consulate to City Hall during a public session, delivering a Proclamation that we will cherish with great pride.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>City of Tampa \u2013 Mayor Jane Castor<\/strong> officially proclaimed October as Italian American Heritage Month in Tampa \u2014 an important recognition for the vibrant local Italian community, to whom we extend our sincere gratitude.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A heartfelt thank you for confirming your feelings of deep friendship and kinship.
