{"id":9416,"date":"2025-07-02T12:21:29","date_gmt":"2025-07-02T16:21:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consmiami.esteri.it\/?page_id=9416"},"modified":"2026-07-13T09:36:52","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T13:36:52","slug":"university-admissions-and-public-notices","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/consmiami.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/education-in-italy\/education-office\/university-admissions-and-public-notices\/","title":{"rendered":"University Admissions and Public Notices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>ENROLLMENT IN ITALIAN UNIVERSITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ADMISSION OF FOREIGN CITIZENS TO DEGREE PROGRAMS AT UNIVERSITIES AND INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER ARTISTIC, MUSICAL, AND DANCE EDUCATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Please be advised that the website of the Italian Ministry of Education, University, and Research (MIUR) (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.istruzione.it\/\">http:\/\/www.istruzione.it<\/a>) publishes the official\u00a0<strong>\u201cProcedures for the entry, residence, and enrollment of international students and the recognition of their academic qualifications.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Students\u2014Italian or foreign\u2014may be admitted to the first academic year if they hold one of the following qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>A\u00a0<strong>U.S. High School diploma<\/strong>\u00a0accompanied by successful completion of at least\u00a0<strong>three Advanced Placement (AP)<\/strong>\u00a0courses,\u00a0<strong>one of which must be in Italian<\/strong>\u00a0and the other two in subjects related to the intended university degree program;<\/li>\n<li>A\u00a0<strong>U.S. High School diploma<\/strong>\u00a0with successful completion of\u00a0<strong>four AP courses<\/strong>\u00a0in subjects\u00a0<strong>not related<\/strong>\u00a0to the intended degree program. If one of the AP courses is in Italian, it will be accepted for\u00a0<strong>all<\/strong>\u00a0university programs.<br \/>\nIn this case, the diploma must also be followed by\u00a0<strong>at least one year of academic study<\/strong>\u00a0at an accredited university, qualifying the student for admission to the\u00a0<strong>second academic year<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>A\u00a0<strong>U.S. High School diploma<\/strong>\u00a0followed by\u00a0<strong>at least two years of academic study<\/strong>\u00a0at an accredited university, qualifying the student for admission to the\u00a0<strong>third academic year<\/strong>. This academic integration is considered valid even if completed at institutions in another country. In such cases, the relevant academic authorities will evaluate the adequacy of the academic path, which must\u00a0<strong>not be shorter than one year<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For those applying to the\u00a0<strong>Faculty of Medicine and Surgery<\/strong>, passing the\u00a0<strong>IMAT (International Medical Admissions Test)<\/strong>\u00a0is required.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Students who are\u00a0<strong>Italian citizens and residents of the United States<\/strong>\u00a0may enroll\u00a0<strong>directly<\/strong>\u00a0with the university in Italy.
