{"id":4828,"date":"2025-07-02T12:35:51","date_gmt":"2025-07-02T16:35:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consmiami.esteri.it\/?page_id=4828"},"modified":"2026-02-24T10:46:34","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T15:46:34","slug":"university-admissions-and-public-notices","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/consmiami.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/education-in-italy\/university-admissions-and-public-notices\/","title":{"rendered":"University Admissions and Public Notices"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"129\" data-end=\"173\"><strong data-start=\"133\" data-end=\"171\">ENROLLMENT IN ITALIAN UNIVERSITIES<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"174\" data-end=\"308\"><strong data-start=\"174\" data-end=\"308\">ADMISSION OF FOREIGN CITIZENS TO DEGREE PROGRAMS AT UNIVERSITIES AND INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER ARTISTIC, MUSICAL, AND DANCE EDUCATION<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"310\" data-end=\"630\">Please be advised that the website of the Italian Ministry of Education, University, and Research (MIUR) (<a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.istruzione.it\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"416\" data-end=\"468\">http:\/\/www.istruzione.it<\/a>) publishes the official <strong data-start=\"493\" data-end=\"630\">&#8220;Procedures for the entry, residence, and enrollment of international students and the recognition of their academic qualifications.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"632\" data-end=\"752\">Students\u2014Italian or foreign\u2014may be admitted to the first academic year if they hold one of the following qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"754\" data-end=\"1854\">\n<li data-start=\"754\" data-end=\"995\">\n<p data-start=\"756\" data-end=\"995\">A <strong data-start=\"758\" data-end=\"786\">U.S. High School diploma<\/strong> accompanied by successful completion of at least <strong data-start=\"836\" data-end=\"869\">three Advanced Placement (AP)<\/strong> courses, <strong data-start=\"879\" data-end=\"914\">one of which must be in Italian<\/strong> and the other two in subjects related to the intended university degree program;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"997\" data-end=\"1426\">\n<p data-start=\"999\" data-end=\"1426\">A <strong data-start=\"1001\" data-end=\"1029\">U.S. High School diploma<\/strong> with successful completion of <strong data-start=\"1060\" data-end=\"1079\">four AP courses<\/strong> in subjects <strong data-start=\"1092\" data-end=\"1107\">not related<\/strong> to the intended degree program. If one of the AP courses is in Italian, it will be accepted for <strong data-start=\"1204\" data-end=\"1211\">all<\/strong> university programs.<br data-start=\"1232\" data-end=\"1235\" \/>In this case, the diploma must also be followed by <strong data-start=\"1288\" data-end=\"1327\">at least one year of academic study<\/strong> at an accredited university, qualifying the student for admission to the <strong data-start=\"1401\" data-end=\"1425\">second academic year<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1428\" data-end=\"1854\">\n<p data-start=\"1430\" data-end=\"1854\">A <strong data-start=\"1432\" data-end=\"1460\">U.S. High School diploma<\/strong> followed by <strong data-start=\"1473\" data-end=\"1513\">at least two years of academic study<\/strong> at an accredited university, qualifying the student for admission to the <strong data-start=\"1587\" data-end=\"1610\">third academic year<\/strong>. This academic integration is considered valid even if completed at institutions in another country. In such cases, the relevant academic authorities will evaluate the adequacy of the academic path, which must <strong data-start=\"1821\" data-end=\"1853\">not be shorter than one year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1856\" data-end=\"1992\">For those applying to the <strong data-start=\"1882\" data-end=\"1917\">Faculty of Medicine and Surgery<\/strong>, passing the <strong data-start=\"1931\" data-end=\"1979\">IMAT (International Medical Admissions Test)<\/strong> is required.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1994\" data-end=\"2292\">Students who are <strong data-start=\"2011\" data-end=\"2066\">Italian citizens and residents of the United States<\/strong> may enroll <strong data-start=\"2078\" data-end=\"2090\">directly<\/strong> with the university in Italy.
