We reiterate that appointments can only be booked through the Prenot@mi application, as indicated above, and are absolutely free of charge, without exception. Any appointments made through such entities\u2014and therefore the result of an illegal \u201cresale\u201d of free consular services\u2014will be canceled automatically. Similarly, appointments booked using bots or malicious software will be canceled: such practices will be reported to the competent authorities (and may also constitute violations of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Laws\/Statutes\/2025\/Chapter815\">Florida&#8217;s cybercrime laws).<\/a><\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>Consulates ensure protection for all Italian citizens in the event of violation of their fundamental rights and restriction or deprivation of their personal freedom. They also provide assistance in emergencies, in locating family members, in inheritance matters abroad, and in the repatriation of remains.<\/p>\n<p>For further information, please refer to the new Consular Guide, an easy-to-read publication that provides a concise and comprehensive overview of the services offered by the consular network to Italians abroad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Documents must be submitted in person or sent by mail<\/strong>, with a prepaid USPS, DHL, FedEx, or UPS envelope for the return of documents, with your name on the envelope indicated as both the sender and recipient. The Italian Consulate is not responsible for damage or loss of documents sent. The consular fees in force can be consulted at the following link: <a href=\"https:\/\/consmiami.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Estratto-tabella-consolare-II-trimestre-2026-dal-01.04.2026-al-30.06.2026.pdf\">Consular Fees in Force<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Information on the Registry of Italians Resident Abroad<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Registry of Italians Resident Abroad (A.I.R.E.) was established by Law No. 470 of October 27, 1988, and contains data on Italian citizens residing abroad for a period exceeding twelve months.
